The discussion will focus on the challenges and opportunities in Europe for women online, against the backdrop of the pandemic. By combining views from civil society, the EU and social media platforms, we will discuss the role of the digital sphere for women’s democratic participation in Europe, the need to tackle the discrimination, harassment and violence that women increasingly face online, and finally, the responsibility of policy-makers and social media platforms in creating a safe, empowering and diverse online space for women.
