Biography

Vladimir Međak, born in 1976 in Belgrade, graduated at the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade in 2000. MA degree obtained at Faculty of Political Sciences and Diplomacy, University of Bologna, Italy on the topic of “EU Regional Policy and Structural Funds” in 2002. Received Chevening fellowship for research in area of EU competition law, St. Peters College, University of Oxford in 2004. Received his PhD degree at the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Belgrade in 2013 on topic of “Harmonisation of national legislation with the EU acquis in the area of competition law”. Since March 2016 he is an independent consultant for EU integration and law and is a Vice President of the European Movement in Serbia (EMinS) since December 2017. He is a director of think-tank within EMinS. He was a chief legal expert of the EU accession negotiation team of Serbia in the period 2015-2017. He was working in the former Serbian European Integration Office of the Government of Serbia, since its establishment in 2004 until 2016 in the area of harmonisation of legislation. Between 2010-2016 (when he resigned) he was assistant director, head of Division responsible for harmonisation of legislation, implementation of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement and accession negotiations. He coordinated expert part of the negotiation team during Stabilisation and Association Agreement negotiations in the period 2005-2008. He worked in several international projects in Serbia and wider region. He is a coauthor of several books and manuals, author of numerous articles on EU law, EU integration, Stabilisation and Association Agreement and competition law.
