The first 100 days of the new European Commission set the tone for its five-year mandate and demonstrate its commitment to climate action in a changing political landscape. These early decisions will shape the future of the European Green Deal (EGD), the EU's 2030 and 2050 climate targets, and its role in global climate diplomacy.
This event will critically assess the Commission's climate actions, their alignment with the EU's objectives and their impact on Member States and the global agenda. The discussions will bring together representatives from the EU institutions, organised civil society, the private sector and academia focused on climate policy and green industrial transformation.
The panel will feature:
- Isobel Findlay, Deputy Head of Strategic Coordination, Legal and Institutional Unit, DG CLIMA, European Commission;
- Monica Frassoni, President of the European Alliance to Save Energy (EU-ASE);
- Patrizia Heidegger, Deputy Secretary General, European Environmental Bureau (EEB);
- Sebastian Oberthür, Brussels School of Governance, Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB);
- Lena Schilling MEP (Greens/EFA), European Parliament;
- Mihai Scumpieru, Head of EU Affairs, Danfoss.
